The U.S. has over 4,000 universities - that's a lot of schools! In 2018, 35% of people in the United States graduated from college and roughly 51 million people have a Bachelor's Degree in the United States.* A student's university becomes a home away from home and graduates carry the love for their university for the rest of their lives. What better way to rep your school, and bolster friendly competition, than a step challenge amongst alma maters?
Whose school will be the best of the best?
For this challenge, we suggest the team leaderboard mode with the user-created team option. When users create their own teams, they are often more engaged and naturally become advocates for your wellness program. Instruct users to set up teams based on alma mater. Too many different schools at your organization? Try setting up by college sports conference instead (SEC, Big Ten, MAC, etc.).

Goal: Compete for highest daily step average
Note: Scoring based on highest daily step average ensures that teams of different sizes can fairly compete against each other. Highest daily step average calculates the average daily steps taken per person across the team.

Rewards Strategy
The group with the highest daily step average at the end of the challenge can win a prize package with swag items from their university. Be sure to provide a reward opportunity for people who may not be top steppers, but put in a big effort. Run a Most Improved report in your Admin Center and award this person (irrespective of team) with their own university prize package.
